Former pupil spotlight - hockey success!

Former pupil Eilidh Campbell has been awarded the Spirit of Hockey award by Scottish Hockey.

Eilidh was delighted to win the awarded sharing "I feel extremely grateful to be part of such an amazing community, where I have met so many inspirational and wonderful people. I want to thank all the people who have supported, encouraged, and inspired me along the way - this award is very much a product of the super people around me!".

Reflecting on Eilidh’s achievement, Head of PE at St Margaret’s, Karen Norval, commented, "Eilidh was a passionate player during her school days, and I am pleased to see that she has continued with her enthusiasm for the game after school."

Eilidh’s dedication to hockey extends beyond mere competition. "I feel very passionately about the power of sport and the impact it can have on all parts of life," she shared. "I would encourage everyone to get involved and find something that brings them as much joy as this one brings me!"

Eilidh graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2023 with an MA in Economics and Accounting before securing a position as an Assurance Associate at EY. Throughout her studies, Eilidh continued playing hockey competitively and was the Women’s Hockey Club Captain during her final year.

Eilidh was pleased to hear that the school's Junior Hockey Team is set to compete in the Scottish final on 8 March and that the 1st XI will be participating in their semi-final later this month. She extended her best wishes to both teams for their upcoming matches and looks forward to hearing how they get on.
